Christian Science

Christian Science is a Christian faith established in more than 70 countries all over the world.
In Germany there are about 80 churches and societies, some since more than 100 years. There are also a number of informal groups and some College Organisations.
Public activities are services on Sundays and Wednesdays, Sunday-schools for children, maintenance of Reading Rooms and sponsoring of public lectures.

Mary Baker Eddy (1821 to 1910) is the discoverer and founder of Christian Science. After a severe accident she experienced an instantaneous healing when reading one of Jesus‘ healings in the New Testament of the Bible. This spontaneous healing caused her to intensify her study of the Bible to learn more about Jesus‘ healing methods. After several years of study she discovered those divine laws, she discovered „the law of Good“ which she named Christian Science. 

The Church was designed „to commemorate the word and works of our Master [Christ Jesus], which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing.“ (Mary Baker Eddy). Man's unity with God, the divine Principle, Love, is the foundation of prayer in Christian Science, understood to be the acknowledgement of the all embracing efficacy of divine Love.

Mrs. Eddy is considered as one of the 25 most important persons of religious life in the United States of America.

The main publications of Christian Science are: 

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mrs. Eddy's most important work. For more than 125 years it has been a bestseller, was translated into 16 languages and sold more than 9 million times.
The Christian Science Monitor, an international Newspaper, valued by people all over the world for its journalistic independence and integrity (6 Pulitzer awards).
The Christian Science Journal, Christian science Sentinel (both in English only) and
Der Christian Science Herold (German).
